Danish Envoy Meets Ahsan Iqbal to Boost Youth-Led Peace Initiatives
New Social Enterprise at University of Narowal Empowers Young Innovators
Islamabad – 16 September 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : Danish ChargĂ© d’Affaires Peter Emil Nielsen, met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary. During the meeting, both sides explored avenues for enhancing Danish-Pakistani collaboration to empower youth in vulnerable communities and create pathways towards sustainable peace.
Denmark and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to counter violent extremism through collaborative initiatives focusing on awareness, community engagement, and youth empowerment.
A new social enterprise has been established at the University of Narowal. This initiative aims to provide young people with opportunities to channel their energy into innovation, skills development, and resilience-building.
The Danish-funded SPREE Project, implemented by UNODC Pakistan, is designed to strengthen Pakistan’s national response to violent extremism by promoting awareness-raising, fostering community participation, and encouraging youth-led solutions.
