Grand Imam of Al-Azhar expresses solidarity with Pakistan after devastating floods

Islamabad – 22 August 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : His Eminence, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Professor Dr. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, extends his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, its leadership and people, over the victims of the devastating floods that have struck several regions, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, and causing extensive damage to homes and infrastructure.
Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif, with its scholars and students of knowledge, expresses its full solidarity with Pakistan in this grievous ordeal, offering deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims, says press note.
Al-Azhar prays to Almighty Allah to encompass the deceased with His vast mercy and forgiveness, grant the injured a swift recovery, support the rescue teams in their efforts to save the innocent and recover those trapped under the rubble, and protect Pakistan and all Muslim lands. “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.”
