France recognizes Palestine to support peace efforts

Macron says France will recognise Palestine as a state in September, welcomed by Palestine

Islamabad – 25 July 2025 (Embassy of Palestine) : The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates- state of Palestine welcomes the decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to recognize the State of Palestine, as an expression of commitment to international law and the political resolution of the conflict, implementing the principle of the two-state solution in accordance with United Nations resolutions, and achieving peace in the region and the world.

The Ministry expresses its thanks and appreciation to His Excellency President Macron and the government and people of the friendly Republic of France for this historic decision, which President Macron emphasized in his response to the letter of President Mahmoud Abbas and its content. The Ministry calls on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to initiate such recognition, and calls on all countries of the world to actively participate in the UN conference to be held in New York and to take practical measures to protect the two-state solution and the opportunity to achieve peace.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers this decision a victory for the diplomacy led by His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas and the efforts of brotherly and friendly Arab countries in support of the just and legitimate rights of our people, especially the efforts of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve the broadest recognition of the State of Palestine.
