With Ramazan approaching, the government has announced a special initiative to provide sugar at an affordable price. Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has confirmed that sugar will be available at Rs130 per kilogram at stalls set up by sugar mills across the country.
Convenient Sugar Purchase for Consumers
To ensure accessibility, sugar will be packaged in 1kg to 2kg packs, and each CNIC holder can buy up to 5kg. These special sugar stalls will begin operations three days before the start of Ramazan and continue until the 27th of the holy month.
Ensuring Smooth Supply and Distribution
The government is taking strict measures to prevent supply shortages and mismanagement. Minister Tanveer has directed authorities to maintain a smooth supply chain, ensuring that stalls remain well-stocked throughout Ramazan.
To facilitate this, the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association, district administrations, and the cane commissioner will work together to prevent long queues and delays, ensuring a hassle-free experience for consumers.
This initiative aims to provide relief to consumers during Ramazan by making sugar available at controlled prices. With proper management and coordination, authorities hope to ensure an efficient and fair distribution process.
